Treating Selective Mutism:
Let's Break the Silence

Step into a world of courage and discovery as we delve into the heart of treating selective mutism through the transformative lens of play therapy. Designed for therapists working towards becoming play therapists, "I Want to See You Be Brave" is a dynamic presentation that equips participants with essential skills to assess and treat selective mutism.

Explore the critical role of the therapeutic relationship in breaking the silence, countering the avoidance cycle, and employing exposure and response prevention through the powerful therapeutic powers of play. We emphasize the forces of self-expression, direct and indirect teaching, self-regulation, the therapeutic relationship, and counter-conditioning fears.

Embark on a playful and informative journey, where child-centered play therapy takes center stage, offering a compassionate approach to fostering communication in children facing selective mutism. Engage with specific interventions such as the Communication Bridge and countering the avoidance cycle, empowering you to create brave play spaces that inspire breakthroughs.

Join us in this interactive presentation where bravery meets play, and therapists emerge with the knowledge and confidence to guide children towards finding their voice.
